I loves me some bird cages

April 3rd, 2009 in digital by 7 Comments

I love them so much, in fact, that I’ve spent hours, NAY, days making them. Well, making them with paper really. But does that take away from their loveliness? I think not. There’s a certain amount of insanity required for making bird cages. I mean, there’s really no right or wrong, and there’s really no end to it. The ideas just flow, like coffee. Man, I’m in a goofy mood. Must be the bird cages. Cuckoo.

I made seven. Yes, seven crazy little cages. And I don’t really even like cages. I try and not think about their meaning. I’m a free range girl myself. But cages are important. And they are fun. So here is one. The other files will be posted at some point this weekend. I need play with them and take more pretty pictures first.

A couple of things to note:

  • I noticed that thicker cardstock/paper worked best. These were all cut with Bazzil.
  • I cut mine no smaller than 2″ wide.
  • It will take a little time to get the pieces apart, but not as much as you think.
  • They are stronger than you would imagine and way more fun, too.

Enjoy you will.
