goofy holiday cards
I got the news this weekend that harvest is nearly over. I expect to be back home in my craft room after this week. I’ll miss seeing all the farmers, but I’m so ready for it to be over. As soon as I heard that my time at the elevator was near the end, my mind started working and I came up with this fun re-purposed project.
I gathered together the following supplies:
- a 1982 edition of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
- Pages from a book
- Deco scissors
- Glitter
- Foam Stamps in shapes/patterns
- *Giant Zig glue pen
- Seasonal patterned paper or wrapping paper
(* This is the one that can be used to re-adhesive a cricut mat, too. I did it and it worked great I’ll never have to buy another mat again.)
This isn’t rocket science, but I’ll share the basic stamping steps:
Using the ginormous Zig glue pen, I applied it to the foam stamp.
Then I stamped in on a page from a book. Be careful about what the text says on the page. I had a couple of do-overs because it was not Christmas appropriate words.
Then, sprinkle a generous amount of glitter over the stamped glue. I like the cheap looking glitter. It has a retro feel to it.
Dust it off, and TADA! Great glitter, it worked! Don’t forget to let it dry.
I chose a few images from the Rudolph book and cut them out. I went for the ones that sparked twisted ideas, but ideas none-the-less. Like this one with Santa pointing and laughing. So cut them out and glue them down over the glittered page.
Cut around the page with your deco scissors for a finished look. This is one with elves wrestling, although my husband doesn’t think they look like they are wrestling. Maybe they are tickling each other?
Mount it all on your patterned paper or wrapping paper. Great way to use up the scraps, right?
This one of the deer with the kittens is in dire need of a saying. Got any ideas?
Finally, add your little sayings with stickers, or in my case, an old school label maker.
This card needs help, too. Anyone?
enjoy.

Your projects are fantastic and I adore them all. But even more I love your humour. You’re mine kind of girl and I thank you for the chuckles. Hope you and yours have a safe and blessed Christmas.
