snow day

Submitted by sheila on Thursday, 7 January 201015 Comments

This is the first official snow day of the school year. The snow has been falling for 12 hours now. Everything is soft and quiet. I grabbed my reversing ring for my 50mm lens and captured these beauties on my fuzzy hat. In any given shot there are a dozen or so flakes. Here’s a collection of my favorites:

The details are truly amazing. Fleeting moments of beauty.

I’m in awe of these photos! I didn’t know that they really, really looked like that! (And I’ve been around a long, long time.) Thanks for making my day.

I’ve been out in the snow all day long, beginning with getting my car stuck in a drift while I was trying to back out of the driveway. If you can make me love snowflakes, you must work wonders with them and you have indeed softened my hard frozen heart when I look at your photos. I’ve never heard of a reversing ring for a 50mm lens before, but suddenly I want one very, very much.
Yes, one of those ringy things and a muscular hunky dreamboat with a shovel and a fire in his heart to clear snow from my driveway, too.

    Beautiful work!
