Mort and a crone

October 14th, 2010 in crafts by 4 Comments

I’ve been busily working on Halloween projects. The ideas and files are coming quickly at me, which is an indication of how happy I am. Nothing will make you appreciate what you have more than doing without for awhile. A month away from paper was nearly more than I could stand. Sigh. I am so glad to be back in my craft space if only for an hour every morning.

Here’s the first finished project, a spooky frame in digital format. There’s a bat sitting at the top of the frame and a couple of crows grace the sides. Also, the cutout in the bottom is actually a coffin shape. I cut it as small as 2 1/2 inches wide but I think the detail is lost a bit. So I suggest you go a tad larger.

la mort

Next up is Mort. I’ve been hoarding a partial tarot card deck for over 10 years. Left in a desk drawer by an old room mate, I’ve loved the colors and illustrations. I sent some with my Paris Swap through Speckled Egg. Parting with them nearly brought me to tears. I decided to just go ahead and scan Mort so that I could have my way with him. LOL. I put him in the vintage printables gallery on Flickr. Have at it.

Sheila, Love your blog. I just discovered it today. I’m always on the “Look out!” for tutorials, and your sense of humor cracks me up, much like my own, heehee. Thanks for sharing. Deb
