learning to solder

February 27th, 2012 in jewelry by 4 Comments

I’ve tried my hand at soldering a few times now and I get nothing but frustrated. I finally decided to take it seriously and signed up for an online class offered by Terri Brush. Gosh, I love her stuff! After watching the first video and using supplies I already had, I made these little charms.

I printed out some vintage images on shrink plastic and then used glass shapes I made from cutting up slides. So lots of new things being learned.

I’m off in search of better supplies this week, as I think I’ve reached the full potential of my current stuff. In fact, my soldering iron is falling apart! I can’t wait to play some more.

You’ll find this project over at Scrapscene on WIP Monday!

I’m still in the frustrated stage with soldering, but I have made a few pieces I like. Yours are very pretty, with the beads and topper.
