Scarlet O’Hara had some mad craft skills. She was, after all, fashioning dresses out of curtains during in the Civil War. While I don’t come even close to her sewing level, I did make this scarf out of a valance. I found the valance at the Mustard Seed antique store in West Lafayette, IN. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, it just took me about a month.

I trimmed the valance down – twice – because it was really big. I searched until I found just the right trim and viola! A scarf that would make Scarlet at least swoon. It’s the lightest shade of aged pink and just right for these late winter days.

Enjoy.
